Desi Home Style Chicken


  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 3 onions sliced
  • 4 tomatoes chopped
  • 4  green chillis slit and chopped in 2 parts
  • 1 whole garlic minced.
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 1 tsp nihari masala
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander a bunch chooped
  • Ghee for cooking
  • Add ghee in a deep bottom pan and add onions. Saute till its light brown in color.
  • Make a puree of fried onions.
  • In the same pan with left over ghee add fried onions and garlic and saute for 1 minute.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes or till oil separates.
  • Add green chillis, tumeric powder, chilli powder, nihari masala, salt and bhuno for 1 minute.
  • Add chicken and bhuno again for 5 minutes.
  • Add 3 cups of water and let it cook on mid flame for 10-15 minutes or till chicken is cooked.
  • Check seasonings and if its required add salt or nihari masala for more chatpata taste . Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rotis and rice.
